Rainy 75 Win Mac Mode

FN+M switches for 3 seconds switches from Windows to Mac Mode. I do not recommend ever using this (even if you use a mac) as the way wobkey implement it is a hack and not well. Done. I have seen complaints in wobkey discord about it.

Mac Mode changes

  1. Win and Alt keys swap
  2. F Keys are remapped as multimedia keys in Mac Mode

Testing

  1. I held down FN+M for 3 seconds to see what happens
  2. Win and Alt keys do swap. Alt launches windows menu instead of Win
  3. F Keys are remapped as multimedia keys in Mac Mode
  4. F1 and F2 started changing volume in mac mode.
  5. No change in VIA Layers while in MAC mode.
So for whatever bizarre reason the 4 layers mean nothing for mac mode on the rainy. On Discord some made mac mode work on Layer 2 and Layer 3, but it requires self programming.

Layers

To use via you first must understand layers. Read this excellent desciption from Keychron learn about layers. The rainy 75 has 4 layers. On the keychron we have:
  1. 0 - macOS Default
  2. 1 - macOS - Function Key Pressed
  3. 2 - windows - Default
  4. 3 - windows - Function Key Pressed
It seems normally 2 layers are for mac mode and two layers are for windows mode on the keychrons. This is what I expected on the rainy. However when I look at the 4 layers in via I do not see any layer switching for mac mode. No Win alt key swaps etc. On the discord someoen got it working in Mac Mode by using Layers 2 and 3 for Mac Mode. Thanks to via anything is possible, but when in MAC Mode itself because it's a hack it ignore anything programmed in VIA. So Mac mode must have nothing to do with any of the layers on the rainy. And now I know we are just in Layer 0 for windows and Layer 1 for FN key press combos. We could program another key to use Layer 2 and Layer 3 but I don't need them.
