Data East Mini Player

My Arcade Data East Classics Mini Player - 10 Inch Retro Arcade Machine Cabinet - Includes 35 Games Now. I do not think my early version has all the games.

PROS

• Arcade Roms
• Dedicated Volume Buttons on Back
• Full color, 4.25" screen
• Control buttons are good
• Can be hacked to make more playable
  

Cons

• Joystick is clicky and sucks. Can be removed to be turned into game pad? Why?
• No battery compartment. This Thing is huge and lots of empty space. But No battery compartment?
  
• Art is so so.
• No optoion to fix games graphics to play in native resolution. Games are stretched. Why?
• Heavy Barrel is unplayble. Hold down button to turn?

Power Brick

Can power from external battery bank plugged into micro USB port. Seems to pull about .5 amps at 5 volts. I am sure needs at least 1 amp. I used the 2.1 AMP on the ADATA power brick and it seemed to work fine.

Hack

Glens video covers it. Requires removal of side art to remove 3 back screws on each side. Then remove all screws from back. Then remove screen screws to put in USB otg cable Androud debug mode, etc. I think it runs on Android 4.x. I think it has 1 GB internal storage. In the end to make this usable I think it needs to be hacked to fix the stupid streatched screen. On the other hand The joystick is bad so not sure it's worth it. Maybe someday. As an atlernative sometimes I think I should put a bigger screen and a pie in it. Not sure how hard that wouild be. That joystick sucks though so....
