Inital Setup

Ayn Thor Launcher

During Initial setup It asks for me to pick a Launcher. AOSP Launcher or Thor Launcher? Picking Thor for Controller input.

AOSP Launcher

AOSP (Android Open Source Project) launcher provides a standard, lightweight, stock Android experience, ideal for general app usage AOSP is best with touch.

Thor Launcher

Thor (or Odin) Launcher. for AYN handhelds, offers a gaming-focused interface with quick settings, performance toggles, and dual-screen management. Thor is optimized for controller input.

Navagation Bar Style

Gesture Navigation vs 3-button navigation On devices like the Ayn Thor, gesture navigation is often preferred to maximize the screen for emulators/gaming, while 3-button is favored for direct control. Maximizes screen space, feels modern, faster for multitasking and switching apps. Users wanting a clean look, immersive gaming/video experience, or with larger devices. So the pixel can also get those buttons? Wow. Gonna go with Gesture here since Home and back already have physical buttons. Will need to learn the app switch gesture.

Gesture Navigation

Extremely intuitive and consistent, reliable, easier for quick app switching. Swipe up to go Home; swipe up and hold for Recents; swipe from edges to go Back.

3-button navigation

Consumes valuable screen space, can be less ergonomic on larger screens. Gesture, because there’s hardware buttons already for home and back
