ROG Ally z1e Network

wifi

  1. MediaTek WiFi 6E MT7922 (RZ616) 160 MHz Wireless LAN Card
  2. Tansfering files over wifi 5GHZ is 24X slower than over NIC
  3. After turning off wifi NIC worked, then when I turned off system it took 10 minutes aftger reboot for wifi option to come back. WTF.

  6. Driver is here on asus support
  7. Internet dl speed test seems fast so why are file transfers in windows so slow?
  8. It says Connection type is 802.11ax
  9. Maybe it's a small files and file system thing?
  10. Transferring Large Files getting 113 MB/sec

Wired

  1. The ROG Ally HUB does not support wired NIC
  2. My Latop hub does
  3. Wire NIC transfers only started working after I disabled WIFI on laptop while connected to laptop hub
  4. Small File Transfers are 3-24X faster than over wifi.

  10. It dissapears and reappears in Device Manager. Wtf. Might need to be using it to see it?

Guess

The wifi card and the SSD are sharing the same bus and for whatever reason small file writes SUCK over wifi. Like will takes days to transfer suck. LAN NIC is fine. Kind of wish nw that the ROG Ally dock had a nic port. Might get another dock because of this.
