Xbox 360 Installation File Formats

Summary

1. Seems like DVD-DL ISO source runs fine with no installs too local HD.
2. XBLA shortcuts involves m3u files for launching installed items.

iso

1. All xenia emulators launch iso directly just fine.
2. iso files can be opened in 7zip and you will see folder contents.
3. I think .xex files are inside of the iso.
4. iso files are a good format to use.

Digital

Games on Demand

xbla aka digital files are extensionless with a srange directory structure.
Content\0000000000000000\4B4D07E7\00007000\ED92E0DD3BF5A37D7A97A8444C83C98E4B
The file has no extension but a subfolder matching the file name with .data extension.
The file is always 44 kb. Subfolders files are in 166MB Split Chunks.
GoD files are compressed so they are smaller than iso.
Games installed from disc are basically GoD format as well.

Xbox Live Arcade

These are also digital but have no .data subfolder. Seems to be under 1tb and one guid file with no extension.

Title Updates

Identify Game Title ID. This can be identified by running the game in Xenia. Locate your TU folder from your removable storage. Copy your TU file from $TitleUpdate\[TitleID]\000B0000 to Documents\Xenia\[TitleID]\000B0000 XBLA
