The Behavior

  1. PCSX2
  2. LRPS2
We really have two options and the each behave very differently with these controls.

PCSX2

PCSX2 CAN handle Wide Screen so much better than LRPS2. Basically Just enabling Wide Screen Hints and No Interlacing Hints is all we have to do and we will get an OPTIMAL experience. Basically if there is NO Wide Screen hack we do NOT want 16:9 enabled as all that does is stretch the video and make everyone FAT. PCSX2 is smart enought to know this so 2d games will just run in 4:3. 3D games will change to 16:9 when there is a wide screen hack. This is aweseome and is why I will make PCSX2 the default emu with just Hints On. I have relized it only does this on some games. For example super monkey ball it turns on wide screen hack but leaves it 4:3. I guess it's different for each game.

LRPS2

With LRPS2 the only way you can tell if a Wide Screen hacks is applied if is if characters look skinny. God Hand and Tekken 5 seems to apply a wide screen hack. But then you have to enable 16:9 in RGUI or Retrobat manually. Sometimes I can't tell. Some games just show black screen. Really the only advanrage to LRPS2 is the autosaves from Retoarch. Those are nice. But Not worth it.

Conclusion

In Retrobat turn on Wide Screen Hints, No Interlace Hints, Default EMU to PCSX2 stand alone. Leave aspect ratio on auto. This worked great for downhill domination, LRPS2 is really only worth it for 2d games, and there aren't many of those on PS2. Maybe it will improve in future.
